Star Trek Online: Collector's Edition (PC, 2010)

Good for Collecting. Useless for promo codes.

It's good as a collector’s item only. Star Trek Online has been free to play for over 7 years and have since discontinued their subscription options a year or two ago. I bought this item so I could say that I owned a physical copy and also so I could have an official Star Trek Online lapel pin badge for cosplaying. I've always wanted a physical copy of this game ever since it first got released on store shelves. I was never able to afford it back then, let alone the subscription cost to play it. Since then it's been a childhood dream of mine to own a physical copy of this game. I've enjoyed the game a ton since it went free to play. It has given me many years of joy and entertainment. I just wanted to own a piece of that entertainment. This product does just that. I will however note that anyone looking to buy these products brand new for the exclusive codes, hoping that they are still valid, will be disappointed to know that the system for submitting and claiming those codes has been refined and changed over the years to the point that those old codes are no longer compatible. If you want to buy a physical copy of Star Trek Online, regardless of the edition or extras, make sure it's for a reason that doesn't involve trying to claim those codes. It's a good collector’s item, and it fulfills that role nicely.
