The Shield of Time by Poul Anderson (1994)
I grew up in the 50's and 60's. R. Hienlien, Silverberg, P.Frank kept me spell bound. Poul Anderson entertained me over the years and has always told a good story that both entertained and taught subtle lessons. A good entertaining escape from the boredom of our day to day existance.
