About

One way or another, I am having a 21st century garage sale, on the cloud. I don't mind being a little bit social.

Thanks CBS & Paramount for reinventing TNG - You have done the impossible
I have had an opportunity to view the remastered first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Season 1 (Far Point). The quality is amazing. In addition, from a production point of view, you can now see things, that you weren't ever expected to notice. IE: carpet pieces on the bridge, hiding wires, etc. -The CGI is so good, it seems out of place, less real. I think it's a matter of getting used to. -What we had in SD, since the late 80's was believable for the time. (viewed on a 21" Zenith tube TV)... -I had the original DVD release in 2002. I was so disappointed, It didn't look good at all. Why? Because a lot of the post processing was done in video. There was no way to recover. -Now Paramount has painstakingly redone all the elements from scratch, I suppose, 10 years ago, it was virtually impossible to this. Modern technology and painstaking effort have allowed them to go back to the original negatives and basically rebuild each episode from the ground up. -Bravo, what a true recovery. -Now, what do we do about those black bars? :-)

I don't know what people are complaining about - It's good.
I am going to provide a basic overview. It isn't going to get any better than this. With that said, having an outsource company perform the re-transfer for Blu-ray, has it's issue. I personally haven't noticed any wrong doing. I am not a Dr Polasky fan either. There are some very good and memorable episodes this season, however Season 3 is the one we are all waiting for. Don't miss Season 2, you will be sorry if you do.

The best of the X99 ASUS boards without all the kitch.
It’s a bit dated, but you still have access to all the modern ports. Nothing missing, except ADD-RGB support. To get that you have to consider X299. Excellent board.
