Dated but still quite snappy.

This is an excellent upgrade for older severs, it really speeds up performance in ESXi VMs quite a lot over many of the lover tiered chips.

Supprisingly useful even in 2017

While is may not be the newest device on the market, and the wifi cannot connect to most modern hotspots, it still has it uses. The battery easily lasts a week or more, and with a bit of effort you can find plenty of old software for palms. These devices make for a great little notepad, contact book, or whatever.

Very picky about SAS controllers.

Obviously Hitachi did not make this to work outside of their AMS system at all, it frequently does not work at all of many RAID cards and SAS controller cards except a few LSI models it is known to actually work on. It is also surprisingly loud (compared to other storage arrays like the HP MSA60). If you have a comparable RAID/SAS card in your system you can't get a better value for a storage array, and the trays and front cover are very nice.
