Exactly what I wanted
I bought this because I need a walking stick because of a bad hip. Way to hard to lug a tripod, hiking pole, and camera gear. This works well as a hiking pole, it's light enough and adjusts to a perfect length. I used it to take photos at a canine agility trial recently and it was so much easier to use than a tripod, and was nearly as stable. Well worth the price. I do wish it had a quick release mount though.
