An amazing prequel to an amazing series
This is an amazing book by an amazing writer! I got it last year for Christmas and since I knew my sister would love it, I decided to get a copy for my sister's birthday this year. The story is just as compelling as the original three books and had me reading until 3AM repeatedly because I just couldn't put it down. If you liked the original Hunger Games series, you will love this story of how Coriolanus Snow went from a teenager, trying to survive in the post-war world of Panem to the psychopathic dictator we all know and hate in Katniss' time.

Good movie, but don't expect the book!
I originally watched this movie because my children and I had read the books together. I was disappointed the first time I saw it because it was NOT the books. It had some similarities, but they had altered it more than I would have liked. I watched it again later and decided it wasn't a bad movie, I was just disappointed because we'd loved the books so much. I bought it because it is a movie that I can enjoy with my children and my friends and their children and we all enjoy it. On it's own, it really is a good, family friendly movie (which is hard to find these days!) but if you're a huge fan of the books, just think how hard it would be to transform 13 very intricate and detailed books into one movie and keep that in mind when passing judgement on the movie. All in all, it was a good family movie that doesn't make the parents want to beat their brains out with it's stupidity or feeling like idiots because of the smart-mouthed youths in the movie.

Woo-Hoo! Even MORE cheese!!
If you like disaster movies, you can't go wrong with 10.5 Apocalypse! This is a sequel to a movie which starts off dropping the Space Needle into downtown Seattle and ends with an earthquake so huge (10.5 to be exact) it makes the city of L.A. into an island. Well, Apocalypse starts where 10.5 started and the tradition of over-acting and not-quite-believable effects carries on through even more huge earthquakes ravaging the US. The cheese is definitely flowing in this movie that takes you from the 10.5 on the west coast to quakes that destroy dams, bury entire cities and eventually split the US in half, it's great! If you like disaster movies, add 10.5 Apocalypse to your list!
