Cable imposes loud ticking sound on transmitted audio, improper design.
2 of 2 found this helpful This cable causes a ticking crosstalk noise when used with MC-59 microphone.
Thats because this cable uses twisted pair wires to carry the audio allowing
the timing pulse to be imposed on transmitted audio / dead carrier.
The original kenwood cable uses micro-coax with shield to prevent
this crosstalk. The crosstalk appears as a loud ticking sound when
the microphone is keyed.
