Install accel cable before the handle
Works great! Be sure to slide the throttle cable through the install slot BEFORE you lock the handle into the slot because it will click in and be hard to remove.
NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi Router R8000-100NAS

It works really well for what we needed
I made an attempt to flash the firmware with Tomato, but ultimately just ended up updating the native Netgear firmware. It does what I need it to do very well and I use the 1 Gbps switch ports built-in with the Spectrum modem. Via wireless 802.11ac provides enough backwards compatibility for our needs. I paid $80 with shipping. It replaced an older Acer router we used that had 100 Mbps switch ports.

Worked out great
This wireless router does not have wireless antenna bunny ears, the antenna is built inside. Be aware that there are three different versions of this router. I flashed the firmware with DDWRT and used it to setup a Repeater Bridge. I set this up for 5 Ghz only 802.11ac to be a bridge in a back room office. With this setup, I am getting nearly the 100 Mbps up/down throughput provided by my ISP. I didn't have to mess with drying to pull a cable to that office and the wife is happy.
