Jump Pack and more
I purchased this jump pack as a means of quickly starting any of my collector cars on a moments notice, but did not expect this device to start a totally flat battery. The manufacturer recommends charging this unit fully prior to placing it in service, and this is a procedure that should be followed. However, I was curious if this device would function under worst case conditions, so I unpacked it from the shipping container and connected it to the battery of a car in storage at 30F with the car battery measuring 2.5 volts. I fully expected to have a failure to even energize the starter solenoid with the jump pack connected, considering the depleted charge present in the car battery. To my sheer amazement, the starter clicked a few times, then engaged a bit slower than normal, and then the engine subsequently roared to life! To start a totally flat battery even with the assistance of a charger would require at least 15 minutes of charging before attempting to crank the engine. With the XP2260 jump pack, the engine was up and running in less than a minute. I rarely rate a product with 5 stars, but this device earned its rating.
Additionally, I needed a worklight in an area of my basement without power outlets. Rather than drag out a long extension cord in order to connect my worklight, I plugged the worklight into the XP2260 120v outlet, and instantly had a functioning light. This device is very handy to supply limited 120v AC power in remote locations, and power a USB charging port for a cell phone, camera, etc.
All in all, this is marvelous design for a compact portable power station.

Laboratory Grade Inductance Standard
The General Radio, aka GenRad, Type 1481-B 2mH standard inductor was found to be a high quality laboratory grade inductor, suitable for validating inductance bridge calibration in the 2mH range. Although it may be used as a circuit component, this is a trivial use for a component of this caliber.

Efficient CPU Upgrade for Core 2 Duo Dell m4400 Laptop
2 of 2 found this helpful The Intel QX9300 was a nice upgrade for the m4400 Dell Business Laptop. This Quad Core QX9300 CPU idles quietly around 3% CPU usage, as compared with 75% with the OEM Intel p8700 CPU, or 60% with the OEM Intel Q9100 Extreme CPU. The QX9300 only supports 4 threads, as compared with 8 threads used in an Intel i7 class CPU, but it still handles most operations efficiently in both Win 7 Pro x64 and Win 10 x64 platforms.
