Someone dropped the ball.
2 of 3 found this helpful I purchased this to replace my old one. My center console saltwater series is a port side mount. As soon as I opened the users manual it walks you through changing the remote box to a port side mount.... word for word. I get the throttle and shift cables hooked up to it and place the cover back on so I can install the shift arm.... not happening. Someone at the factory didn’t put threads in the hole for the bolt. So in turn the shift arm falls right back off. Guys come on. In turn I had to go buy a bit to thread the hole for the bolt. Apparently there is no QC on these things. Save your $$$ and stick to a local marine.
