The Secret Book of John: The Gnostic GospelsAnnotated & Explained (SkyLight Illu
    Jan 24, 2017
    Fascinating
For a long time, years really, I have heard of the Nag Hammadi cache of books that was found in Egypt, the gnostics, and the intriguing counter-Christianity that they espouse, but I never had the time or interest to really delve into them, until recently. I heard that (through a gnostic-type podcast) that the Secret Book of John was kind of like the thesis, upon which all the rest of "gnostic" narrative was built. So, naturally, I picked this one up, being highly recommended by some of the most well known scholars in this field. All I can say, is that the book is well written, is printed and bound with quality materials, and the content is quite compelling, offering (one of many) alternate tellings of the Adam and Eve story; it doesn't disappoint. If you're interested in the history of religions, or in the occult (hidden knowledge), then this is right up your alley. Good stuff, certainly worth the measly $10 I paid for it!
