Solid, sturdy, easy replacement, use the service manual.

It's hard to imagine how these hinges could break, as they are cast metal, and very sturdy, but it can happen. They are easy to replace, and inexpensive enough to make it well worth doing. Get the service manual from Dell, and you're good to go!
