Dancers in Mourning by Margery Allingham
Margery Allingham is an excellent author, and Mr. Albert Campion is one of my VERY favorite private 'tecs, but it is quite depressing as Mr. Campion lacks his usual vivacity and is darkly depressed. Holds together well, just be prepared for a depressed Campion (no fear, it's only this one that's really that way). I recommend 'Look to the Lady' (a.k.a 'The Gyrth Chalice Mystery) if you like adventure, 'Death of a Ghost' or 'More Work for the Undertaker' if you want a more lighthearted Campion (of course, I'd rather say start from the beginning, i.e. 'The Crime at Black Dudley', and follow it chronologically and just skip 'Dancers').

Prince Caspian: a terrible adaptation of a great book
Was absolutely disappointed with this movie. If one is going to change the storyline so drastically, one might as well have made up one's own. To change an author's storyline so drastically is to say that one can do better than the author that originally created the story, and if you think that, make up your own story and don't ride on an author's name. I am an ardent Lewis fan, and a lover of books in general, and think it's sad and offensive how the movie industry has so often ridden on the coattails of authors and then given their own story instead of what they said they'd deliver. If you wan't to see Narnia movies that actually follow the story, I highly recommend the BBC versions. The BBC version may not have that great graphics or as 'attractive' actors, but it has heart and is considerably more faithful to the book.
