Confusing if you're not tech savvy
2 of 3 found this helpful Granted, this was my first experience with power line devices but it was not as straight forward as the quick setup guide describes. At least in my case. If you didn't have experience with flashing devices you'd probably rage quit the whole thing in minutes.
1. The illustrations in the manuals don't look anything like the new gui in the actual app
1a. Both devices we're unresponsive at first attempt (may be due to previous owner config change) and was forced to factory reset, then flash. Extremely tedious...again, wasted tons of time already up to this point.
2. I had to wait about 3 minutes for first device to pick up the network before continuing. Guide suggests it will take a few seconds
3. Second (Receiving) device took a very long time as well but did not get out to the web, had to manually make exceptions in firewall to resolve. Should have been changed automatically with software setup.
HOWEVER, once completed, very happy with signal strength and performance. Gets a strong web connection in an attached garage that previously was a black hole for wifi and broadband. Well worth the $18 spent on them.
