Great Lens but spend the extra on VR!
First of all, let me just say, I love this lens. It provides extremely sharp photos, and has a nice zoom range for everyday needs. The best part about this lens is really the price though. Something this good should not be this cheap but it is! More expensive lenses won't make your photos better.
If you own a DX camera, this is MUST have.
With all that being said. It is definitely worth the extra couple bucks for the VR edition. It really isn't that much more but it makes your photos look a lot better if you're not shooting outside on a bright day (which is most of the time!) I can comfortably shoot at 1/15th shutter speed with VR on, it's amazing!
This lens is already cheap, no need to go cheaper by not getting the VR!
