What lovely and thoughtful gifts and they are much appreciated! I am a huge Golding fan and I look forward to reading all of these. Items were as described, well packaged and delivered promptly. I wish you luck on your new adventures!Reply from: desertrunner46- Feedback replied to by seller desertrunner46.- Feedback replied to by seller desertrunner46.Thank you. I'm glad these found a good home. In the process of writing a term paper on Golding (in the 1960's), I wrote to him & received back an enlightening and very friendly letter. It was helpful and my term paper received an A+. Over the years, somehow the letter was lost, but at least my appreciation for Golding was unabated. I hope you enjoy all the books. I particularly liked "The Two Deaths of Christopher Martin" (which has a different title I think here in the states). And "The Spire"

Broken Blossoms
This is one of D.W. Griffith's finest films, a film that deals sensitively with racial prejudice, child abuse, and love. Its photography and editing are excellent, as is the acting (for the period), and if you can find a DVD with the original score (better than the modern score), your experience will be perfect.

Mrs. Dalloway the film deserves a better DVD/Blu-Ray presentation.
This DVD is non-anamorphic which means it is 1:85:1 within the central 4:3 (square) portion of your television screen. It takes getting used to. Mostly disconcerting. But that is all there is available unfortunately.
I don't know if it is possible to accurately film "Mrs. Dalloway". This film is like a Reader's Digest version. It captures key plot points. The production values appear accurate reflecting Victorian England. The inner thoughts of Mrs. Dalloway are sometimes in the film as a voice-over, but mostly not. Redgrave is outstanding as is everyone else in the film especially Rupert Graves but the character he plays is not well delineated. The final "party" is not quite how I imagined it, and it doesn't end with "and here she is". But it is interesting.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
21 of 22 found this helpful This DVD is an EDITED version of the roadshow Cinerama film. It is over 20 minutes shorter than the original, VHS-issued version, that has been available for years. In addition to vital scenes, it is missing the overture. Stick to the VHS version until the studio issues a proper DVD.
