These are an easy and efficient way to extend your hard-wired network...
Installing them was super easy (just plug them in the wall). I didn't bother with the security feature as I am using them in a single family residence. If I were in a shared-services office, or a tenant in an office building I would definitely turn this on though. Mine connected to each other in under a minute and I have excellent networking between the floors in my home. I purchased a second set and added another one to my network - again I simply plugged it into an outlet near the equipment I wanted to add to my network, it is just worked. I'm very happy with these units. If I could wish for anything else - I wish these offered POE for security cameras. POE+ would be the best (higher wattage).

Decent quality as a backup unit
I use these for configuration and setup of computers so I don't have to unbox the AC adapters for each unit I configure. Works a treat!

Perfect small router with special options for anyone using WireShark!
2 of 2 found this helpful I purchased this unit because several sites said it was a good option if you needed a unit that allowed you to mirror data from any port to a port you wished to monitor with WireShark. It's all that and a bag of chips.
It speed converts, it mirrors data, it gives me a great small tool - up to 1 Gbit for enabling any computer running WireShark to monitor any conversation on one or more of the other ports (on this switch). It is solidly built (I could win a bar-fight with this thing) and easy to configure. I wish the configuation was via web-page rather than a proprietary program, but that is of little consequence. This is perfect for my needs.
