    Versatile streamer
This can send streaming material to both HDMI and RCA outlets, which is enormoously useful to me.

Long Day's Journey Into Night New DVD

Fine production of a great play.
This is a film version of the great stage production of this play that originated at Stratford, CA. William Hutt and Martha Henry were extraordinary onstage. The film can't quite catch that electricity, but still it's a valued record.

Great movie, but the Facets release is dreadul
HEIMAT II is one of the masterpieces of world cinema. The Facets DVD release is one of the disgraces of DVD production. The subtitles are very hard to read (this in contrast to the version released in England by Tartan, which features crisp legible subtitles). Also, the initial run of Facets DVD includes a second disc that doesn't have the contents promised -- instead of episodes three and four (almost four hours of this 25-hour movie) there is an eight-and-a-half-minute promotional video. Facets is usually a class enterprise. They should withdraw this release and make the necessary deal to transfer the Tartan version. In the meantime, those who want to see this astonishing movie should get their hands on an all-region player and buy the Tartan version in the region 2 format. Their HEIMAT 3 is a handsome production as well.
