Good drives without errors
I purchased two of these. They arrived in antistatic bags, one had 33k hours of runtime and another 39k. No errors at S.M.A.R.T. logs. Work well as mirrored boot device at home NAS system. Note that they report themselves as 'SATA 2.6, 6 Gb/s'.

Good LCD.
The one that I got works well. I2C address is 0x3F.
It uses data bits in the following format: bit7...bit4 - data for 4-bit LCD interface; bit3 - backlit, active high; bit 2 - E, bit1 - RW and bit 0 - RS.
Thus, to manipulate an indicator you have to send two commands by I2C bus for each half-byte that you need to transmit to the LCD: first time with high E bit and second time with low E bit. 50 microseconds between these transfers is enough.
With that, four screws that are used to mount LCD to the stand are too long.
