Instant fun machine - Fully assembled kalimba keys mounted on a raw cut wooden resonator box, not a kit.
Fully assembled kalimba keys mounted on a raw cut wooden resonator box, not a kit. This is good, and a better value than some kits without the resonator.
The resonator is without stain or lacquer, just unfinished, lightly sanded pine, not mahogany. This can be a feature if you wish to custom paint or stain.
No tuning hammer is included. The instrument is close to roughly tuned and the keys out of angular place. I found both alignment and tuning easily accomplished with needle nose plier with duct-tape wrapped onto each nose anvil to prevent scratching the keys as they are adjusted higher by pushing in or lower by pulling out slightly and the alignment easily done when tuning.
This is a great product which sells at Disneyland for $40 tuned and finished. I bought two for drum circle and they are always quite popular there. A 'hit' so to percussively speak.
5 stars if finished and tuned, losing a half star each. --(o=8 wiz.

Equivalent to similar competition, value priced is not cheap quality.

My only complaint is the case has not enough room for a roll of core 50/50 solder.
Get some copper wool, like Chor-boy, to scrub the three sized tips well before they can be tinned tol take solder, then keep it in the case and use it as tip cleaner.

INDISPENSABLE!
I have two on my keyring carabiner and utilize them daily.
