dbx DriveRack 4820: top-drawer functionality and audio quality
The dbx DriveRack 4820 has been around for some years, so its digital technology is no longer absolutely cutting edge (no FIR filters, for example). But for its price on the used market, it's a no-brainer, whether you have a complex sound reinforcement system you need to precisely tailor or whether you're running a bi- or tri-amplified home audio system and insist on audio quality with no compromises. My only caveats are two: (1) there's a fairly steep learning curve to configuring the 4820 and (2) unlike the 4800 you must have a Windows laptop or tablet to operate the unit. Operation from the front panel is not possible. The particular unit I bought was from a concert hall, i.e., a fixed installation, much preferable to one that was used for touring, so as with any other audio component, knowing a little about your unit's history before you buy is not a bad idea.

JBL Pro D2430K compression drivers
The are worst compression drivers I've ever heard or owned and I've been buying, selling, and using horn speaker systems since the 1970s. No matter what horn I tried, nor what sort of HF EQ I applied, they sound dull and lifeless. Since that flies in the face of many other reports I've heard, I can only assume that the pair I bought is defective or damaged.

Beware the fans!
1 of 1 found this helpful Because all my audio components are rack-mounted, I thought, when acquiring a NAS, I should get a rack-mountable unit. However, once I set it up, I found the noise level was like running a vacuum cleaner in the same room, not really feasible for someone demonstrating audio gear. I replaced the Buffalo NAS with a desktop-format QNAP, which runs pretty much silently and has a lot more functionality. In the end, though, a rack-mount form-factor would have worked a lot better for me.
