KAJI MEIKO SHIYURAYUKIHIME (LADY SNOWBLOOD) 70'S CAMP
Loved Kill Bill? Thought that the campy antics of the 60's TV series Green Hornet and Batman were cool? Then this is the flick for you! The first reviewer of this DVD, Zulwe, took this film all too seriously and totally missed the feeling of the period it was shot in, early 1970's Japan, when avant garde, powerful women flicks were the "In thing" and audiences were usually young men who were more interested in seeing a beautiful screen siren spread carnage then whether or not her sword slashes made contact. These films were not really meant to be taken seriously, they were destined to be pure camp, cult, fodder, as will the Zatoichi series I'm sad to say. Meiko Kaji will always be the queen of 70's Japanese violence films, and for cult fans like me is just fine.
