turns my crank
1 of 1 found this helpful I upgraded my octalink, SLX level crankset and am very happy with the outcome. First off, the hollowtech II is an easier install/remove procedure because the cups are exterior of the shell and easily engaged with the intended removal tool. Also, no need for a crank puller.
If you purchase one that includes the bottom bracket, everything you need is included for 68mm or 73mm shells. Though the supplied instructions show different sized spacers, the kit comes with 3, 2.5mm spacers included. This is all you need. For 68mm; use 1 on the drive side and no spacer on the non-drive side. For 73mm; 2 spacers drive side and 1 on the non-drive side.

Saddle Up!
Previously owned a WTB Silverado Team, which I found to be very comfortable for my narrow sit bone spacing. The saddle on my new bike was appropriate width, but like sitting on a brick. I decided to look into the Race version because the red accent matches my bike. I called WTB tonask aboit the differences. Only difference is in the padding. The lower priced Race has more of it. Hence the slightly heavier weight. This saddle is so comfortable. Before, 1-2 hr rides meant barely being able to walk. Now, 3+ hr rides are no biggie.

big difference
1 of 1 found this helpful Cannot believe the difference I've noticed with upgrading from my SLX model. Even with the SLX shifter still in use, the improvement has been great.
