Better than original filter
The metal outside incasement gives more support to the filter fabric. I would suggest soaking the entire filter in cold water once a day and turning the filter over (bottom to top) when putting it back into unit. When putting the cover over the filter, try not to crush any parts of the metal incasement. This will give a longer filter life.
