Item was cancelled BEFORE THE BUYER PAID, doing so promptly as to ensure that the customer would not have to wait for a refund. Out of stock/damaged is an eBay prompted response selected when doing a cancellation, no further information is needed. Buyer was not the winning bid, as it was cancelled before the official end of the auction.
