ballast replacement
I looked everywhere for the exact replacement ballast and this one works.

repurposed the cable
I bought the cable because I needed a stereo type plug at a 90 degree angle - but not to listen to music. I needed this cable to replace the one on my Sony remote control tripod for my video camcorder. That plug had bent badly and could not connect properly. So I looked on Amazon for a 2.5mm cable and couldn't find one. It was not easy to find a 2.5mm right angle stereo cable, but I luckily found this one on eBay. The first thing I did when the package came in the mail was to cut the cable in half and peel back the insulation from an inch or more to bare the wires so I could solder them to my remote control wires. It worked great and now I don't have to spend $100 to buy a replacement remote control tripod.

Brake pads
These new pads made all the difference. Be sure to seat them 20-30 good slow downs to get the best performance from them.
