The real thing
This is the real thing! The Velcro worked as expected and the sticky back seems to be holding even in the heat.

Solid workhorse
2 of 2 found this helpful My main use for my immersion blender is a daily protein drink which includes some powders, coconut oil (in solid form), liquids and frozen berries. I think that any immersion blender would handle such a drink with little problem. My wife and I also use the blender for hot soups, sauces, and drinks using more frozen ingredients than my protein drink does (like a freeze). In three months time, this is our third immersion blender, and in both of the earlier units that we purchased, the plastic gears stripped out. The Bamix supposidly has metal gears, but they are not exposed, so I can only report as to what I've read. The Bamix does seem to be better built and it gives the feel of a more substantial machine. It is less wattage than the Cuisinart blenders I had and it doesn't blend the coconut oil as well as the Cuisinart did, but the Cuisinart also was not able to make my drink smooth. Coconut oil is evidently difficult to blend and the drink ends up with small chunks (a little larger chunks with the Bamix). I gave this an excellent rating because it solved my problem, that is, the gears don't seem to strip. If I were only to use it for my protein drink, the Cuisinart would have been fine, even preferable. The first Cuisinart that I bought was remanufactured and emitted that electric motor smell when I first got it and ever after until its ultimate demise a month and a half later of a burned out motor (and stripped out gears). After it broke I noticed the mixer end was so tight that I could hardly turn it by hand. Perhaps that was the problem all along. The second Cusinart worked fine until my wife tried to mix something that included brown sugar where some of the sugar was almost rock-like in hardness. A piece of rock-like sugar jammed between the mixer and shield, which stripped the gears. With the Bamix, it seems to do a better job with very hot liquids and with hard objects like frozen fruit (and perhaps rock-like sugar), even though it has noticeably less power. I have now had the Bamix for a little over a month. Only time will tell how well it stands up to our tasks long term, but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Bodie Likes It
It is too early to see if it will keep Bodie warm in the winter and we currently leave the door propped open, so we don't know if he will readily learn to use the door. Bodie uses his new house with no coaxing from us. The doghouse is well made and nicely insulated, so it should work out nicely this winter, and with the heated pad, we are not afraid to leave our dog outside when we are not home.
