Blue Ant - Naviblue BT Stereo Headset

Pros: Comes with a BT audio dongle, this is really nice as you can connect to any 3.5 audio out and get clear sync'd (almost) audio from TV, iPod, etc. This will sync up to other devices besides the included headset. The array of extras: connectors, adapters, charger microphone etc. is impressive and will get you going on about any imaginable configuration. Both headset and dongle are pretty easy to pair up with whatever you want. Distance and fidelity are about what you’d expect, but slightly lower than I’ve seen in others. Battery life: phenomenal, considering the application, I love that you can swap them out, buy extras charge one while the other is in use, etc. Charge time is a bit more than two hours. Weight/Comfort: Excellent, you don’t even notice them, shake your head or jog and they barely move. Operating system is pretty intuitive and works well. Cons: The fit is not snug to the ears; this allows TONS of ambient noise to pass into the ear canal. This is what we are trying to avoid, hearing our co-workers gab-on. Here is my major complaint, sound quality. If you snug them to your ears (with your hands cupped) the sound quality is slightly better, but it still sounds hollow and cheap. Turn up the volume and you really get some tinny sound, broken and spotty, unpleasant to say the least. During calls the unit sounds about average, the problem comes for the person on the other end who will complain of hollow echo. This surprised me, as the unit actually has a detachable dedicated microphone. Summary: Comfortable, Great battery life/options, Charge time good, Good amount of included accessories, Ease of ease of use above average, Distance average, Call audio is average, Microphone pick-up poor, Music audio below average. I was so disappointed; I was really looking forward to loving this product. Better audio would have made this at least worth the money. It does everything a headset is NOT supposed to do exceptionally; it does everything a headset IS supposed to do well below average. Buy a separate dongle and get a Nokia BH-503 for $25 each, these have great audio for the money, what they lack won’t disappoint you. Sorry Blue Ant, I am going to have to send this one back for the price.
