Protection and Storage Space
I've been using the drive for a couple of weeks now and really like it. I have a laptop at work and I keep my personal files on the external drive, so it travels with me where ever I go, as well as from home to work on a daily basis. The rubber bumper around it appears to provide a lot of protection which is important because I bicycle to work, so the LaCie rides in the upper pocket of my backpack. I feel safer having a protected drive with my files, just in case of an accident. Lots of people commented that theirs ran on the hot side - I don't notice that at all, except when I initially transferred over my files from my previous drive that this one is replacing. It got pretty warm during the heavy data transfer, but as a rule, it's quiet and cool.

Great Camera!
0 of 1 found this helpful Bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife but she opened the box when it came in the mail even though it was addressed to me; we have an agreement that we don't open each other's packages. To punish her, I took the camera out with my other, bigger DSLR for a day of shooting in the woods and to compare the two. I told her she had to stay home and think about what she had done. In short, the Nikon performed great and was much easier to carry around and get at than my larger DSLR. The smaller sensor size, (1 inch), doesn't impact image quality at all, as I took shots of the same subjects with the same settings to compare, and aside from the Nikon's smaller megapixel output, (about half the size of my DSLR), the whites were white, the images were sharp even when blown up over 100% in an editor. Great camera! I might keep this one and get my wife another :-)
