Excellent film camera for student to pro!
I really like Pentax products, I owned an MX model many years ago and I took many great photos with it then. I have recently gone to a Pentax digital, and I also have a Pentax P30t, The MX model is handy, and the lenses I have for Pentax ALL fit and work with the MX! The feature I wanted with the MX is that it does NOT require any battery to function perfectly. The battery is only used to power the meter and meter indicator LEDs. I can use this camera for very long bulb shots without any worry about battery life. Just a great well built solid little body with complete manual controls well placed and easy to manipulate.

BIG SPRING SALE! USSR LOMO Lubitel 166B (LUBITEL 166V) TLR Camera (ITEM №8)
Apr 08, 2017
Basic, light, snappy TLR
Used properly, the Lubitel 166B, is a good camera for banging around in places a more expensive camera might be a concern. Rugged, basic, lightweight. This is not a camera for snapshots, though it will DO snapshots. It has a funky, but serviceable spot for focus in viewfinder, it works best with the included fold out magnifier. Use it. It works. The best way to use this camera, is to see, compose, set exposure, focus then hit the shutter. See, you need to LOOK at the scene or subject and figure out how you want the picture to appear. Compose, position the camera, light, subject and scene to include and display the image you want. Set exposure, there are two controls for exposure, shutter speed and aperture. These need to be set for the light and film used. There is MORE to consider than simply getting the right amount of light. The shutter controls motion blur, of the camera, and the subject. The aperture controls depth of focus (out there). (Purists insist this is depth of field, but whatever, it's focus.) Therefor you need to decide how to set the aperture and shutter to present the picture you want. Read up a good article on taking good pictures, it's all about choosing camera position, lighting, focus and exposure. This camera has a very sharp lens for a triple element coated lens. Certainly good enough to get great pictures. It's NOT a toy, used properly it can capture wonderful images. To take snapshots, use ISO 100 film, set the aperture to the dot between 8 and 11, set the focus to the dot between 8 and 11 meters, Use the sport finder, ignore the focus screen, focus will be good from about 12 feet to the mountains. Then adjust the shutter speed to expose correctly, 250 for mountain snow and white sand beaches in full bright sun, 125 for average summer sunlight mid day, 60 for early morning late evening, and hazy mid day, 30 for early early, late late, and cloudy dark, use a tripod when shooting below 1/60th. The Lubitel camera is capable of capturing images, the same images that ANY camera commonly used by normal people can capture. 45 Mike

I have 2 of these camera bodies and I intend to keep them!
The P3 camera is made of very sturdy plastic and can take a severe beating. The design means that there are no light seals to wear out, ever! The shutter is very accurate, being an electronic design, and with the A series of PK lenses, this does auto exposure! The meter is spot on and very easy to use. It uses very easy to find and inexpensive S76 button batteries and they will last about a year! Like most of the Pentax 35mm SLR bodies, including the newest digital models, the lenses made from the stone age will fit and work! There is a small window on the back cover that shows you what film is loaded, AND IF film is loaded! This camera will easily do multiple exposures and uses the dedicated Pentax flash units along with many of the generic auto and manual flash units. I use a radio trigger with multiple flashes, and it makes beautiful images! The film loading is easy and quick and if you watch the rewind knob you KNOW the film is winding correctly. I have 2 of these camera bodies and many lenses, A P3n and a P30t, one gets B/W film, and the other gets color film. This unit has a mechanical shutter release port, a self timer function and a DOF preview lever. I can live without a selectable ISO, but I would prefer to have that option. If this camera had a mechanical shutter that did not rely on batteries and selectable ISO and an indicator in the viewfinder for the aperture selected, this would be the most perfect film 35mm slr pentax ever made! Without those three features this camera body falls just short of the venerable Pentax MX body which has NO auto exposure but is my absolute GoTo 35mm SLR camera body. Check the prices on an MX body in good to pristine condition compared to the giveaway prices on the P3 bodies. The P3 bodies, for the price are the best value out there!
