Typical Chinese compressor - total garbage!
1 of 1 found this helpful Customer bought one of these Chinese Yorks brand new. It worked, but was incredibly noisy! Replaced under warranty. Replacement was just as loud. Replaced it again. Third compressor was tolerable, but the front seal leaked. Replaced the seal, and it worked OK for about three months. Then it started making noise, pumping poorly, and running hot. Classic failed valve symptoms.
On my recommendation the customer bought a T/CCI York compressor. The T/CCI Yorks are still made in the USA. I flushed the OE tube and fin condenser AGAIN, and installed a NOS Parker receiver/dryer AGAIN (I did this with each compressor replacement), evacuated and recharged the system. No noise, no leaks, great pumping. And it was still working three seasons later, even in brutal southwest summers at the high head pressures typical of 134a.
Do yourself a favor. Spend the extra $100-$150. You get a far better part, and you support American workers, not the horrible Chinese Communist Party.
One more thing: don't do a Sanden conversion. The York pumps more refrigerant, and works much better particularly at idle and stop and go. If you do go the Sanden route, make sure you get a genuine USA made Sanden compressor, not one of the Chinese "Sanden-style" clones that have flooded the market. ALL Chinese compressors are crap, not just the Yorks. Even if you get one that works and is quiet, the life span is only 30k-50k miles. A real Sanden, Seltec, Denso, T/CCI York, Ford FS-series compressor, etc. all last well over 150k as long as the refrigerant and oil isnt allowed to leak out. No Chinese compressor comes close. They may look the same, but they're not built the same. Poor metallurgy, poor machining. There's a reason they are so cheap. Pay a little more up front for a genuine compressor and you wont have to do it again in a year or two.

Outstanding quality, outstanding price!
I own several Amtrol cylinders, some of which are almost 25 years old. They still pass inspection with ease. These cylinders and their Y valve are of superior quality to "Vevor" and other Chinese cylinders on the market. Not only are they better than Chinese cylinders, but they are priced comparably or, in many cases, LOWER, than the Chinese products! If you can't get a US-made Worthington cylinder, then these Portugese-made Amtrol cylinders are definitely the next best thing.

Typical Chinese junk
0 of 2 found this helpful I bought this jack for my 4WD. I needed a jack that was short enough to fit under the axle when the tire is flat, yet lifts high enough to be able to mount a fully inflated 37" spare tire. This jack has the required specs for that job.
Unfortunately, after a few years of storage, it fails just when I needed it! The ram would raise SLOWLY and finally contact the axle, but after that it would not lift. I tried everything, including the proper bleeding/air purging, and still nothing.
Another issue is that the rams are rusting. They have a rough machined finish rather than the expected ground finish, and they arent plated or otherwise treated for corrosion resistance. I could Scotch-Brite the rust off and oil the rams monthly, but that's a PITA and shouldnt be necessary. In any case, since it no longer works it's a moot point.
After some research I found that it's common for Chinese jacks to have failure rates as high as 40%, and even if they do work they tend to be short lived. Even when they're not used.
Forget Chinese hydraulic jacks. Get either a US made or Japanese made unit. US Jack is expensive, but they are THE best! And if they ever need servicing, all parts are available for a reasonable price. Not that they will ever need parts unless they are being used continuously 12hrs a day for years. You can find used ones for a decent price if you look around, and because they are so well built they are very unlikely to have any problems. The other option are Japanese-made jacks sold by Norco and others. They are welded units, and so are not repairable, but like the US Jacks they are very unlikely to ever fail in the first place.
While neither the US or Japanese jacks are available with telescoping rams, that feature does little good when the Chinese junk doesnt work when its needed! Get a jack just low enough to fit under the axle or a-arm with a flat, and carry a suitable jack stand and a block or ram extender for extra height. That way, you can raise the vehicle, put it on the jack stand, then use the block under the jack or extension on the ram to lift the vehicle high enough to get the inflated spare on. Yeah, it's a bit more work than using a telescoping ram jack, but at least it wont fail and leave you sitting on the side of the road!
