Teaching history and science through play is the best method.
It is a nice introduction to Viking seasmanship for exploration, as well as for raiding and trade.
Children need to learn about all this, because the Vikings were an important influence in Western and European history, as well as great explorers.
The toy ship introduces learning opportunities through play.
