Mediocre image quality from a good brand name camera.
This inexpensive model reflects the downsides of a megapixel race that camera manufacturers had at the time. High megapixels on a small image sensor produces high noise levels, even at base ISO, and the camera tends to select unnecessarily high ISO settings that only makes the image noise worse. Earlier models with only 6-8 megapixels produced better quality images.
