Guitar Teacher's Opinion
As a guitar teacher I felt it important to have fret dots on the bare fingerboard of one of my acoustic guitars, so that students could see which position I was playing at. I just used the medium-sized abalone markers which were easy to apply and look fairly genuine. They work well and aren't felt by the fingers when playing. Plus they match the abalone inlay, soundhole, pickguard and headstock logo. Excellent!

Good value - but extremely low string action causes buzzing as you go up the fretboard.
Bought a Lanikai S-TEK Tenor Ukulele Solid Spruce Top. Uke looks in really good condition but will definitely need a set-up. The action is beautifully low but as a result, there is some buzzing which is particularly noticeable at the high end of the fretboard. So I'd guess the saddle needs to be slightly raised to remedy this.
