Definitely worth the purchase.
6 of 6 found this helpful So my fiancée had been bit by the nostalgia bug, and being the console gamer she is, she has been hoping to get a NES for some time now. After perusing around different sites and sellers that would work for our current setup, I stumbled across this little baby. I can tell the seller takes pride in the products he sells because this thing works better than the day it rolled off the factory floor! The console came with a replacement/non-oem Nintendo controller with an extra-long, 3.5 meter cable (I also ordered an extra one by itself as this particular package only came with one controller, as well as nes controller extension cables).
Functionally-speaking, it works without problem, and with the disabled lock-out chip, that means the console also accepts imports carts, and game carts not directly certified by nintendo (homebrew and otherwise).
Now, Asthetically-speaking: the console is in pretty decent shape for its age. There are some scratches, but that's expected for a 30+ year-old console. I am most certainly not complaining about that.
Controller ports: I noticed that the controller port 1 lacked any "snap" sound/feel notifying that the controller had been plugged in. The same cannot be said for controller port 2, so I can tell that this console was historically played by a single person.
Otherwise, this was a great deal, and I can definitely tell that the seller/refurbisher is a passionate gamer.

Lots and lots of games
This is my impression of this pack:
Everything is fully functional on a nes with a disabled lock-out chip.
Some of these titles are rom hacks of other games, and some are titles coded for pal-region consoles, as some of them run faster than they are supposed to on an ntsc console. Some titles are in japanese, but the text is in english, and others are completely in japanese, but everything is still playable. Everything seems functional as far as I can tell.
In terms of the title selection: I find the sound effect in the title selection menu annoying, but the selection of games are pretty decent. It would have been nice to see save states implemented in this, but it doesn't seem as though there is a writable memory space in the cartridge. That said, I didn't see any titles on this cart that utilized save functionality, either (sorry, no final fantasy, no LoZ titles, either). Please note: this is only TECHNICALLY a 500-in-one cart - there are some duplicates on this pack. It would have been nice to see metroid, Mike Tysons punch-out, the megaman titles, NTSC versions of the game that are PAL versions, a lack of sprite-replacement rom hacks and less japanese-only titles, but for the price, I can't complain too much

Meh.
The items came well-packed in bubble wrap and in a bubble-wrap manila envelope. Item is accurate as described by the seller. Both extension cables came in individual bags in the package. Asthetically-speaking, the cabling and connectors are clean with no abrasions on either connectors or cabling.
Functionally-speaking, contact between the controller and the extension cable on one of the extension cables are loose and may possibly fall out if the controller is pulled on.
with a combination of these cables and aftermarket controllers, one which came with the console, creates certain glitches in the games where the level seams don't update properly and the text above the level (as tested with Super Mario brothers 1) glitch and come half-way down the screen once button B has been hit.
