Hornady Series IV Specialty Die Set 500 Linebaugh

Joslyn restoration

I am restoring a Civil War era Joslyn rifle, which was .56-50 Spencer rim fire. The 500 Linebaugh is the closest I can come to the original with readily available brass and dies. Hornady makes excellent products, and I am glad I don't have to make my own dies and brass from scratch.

many uses

having three lets me pre-set stops with a feeler gage on my shaper. I can remove one at a time allowing a deeper cut each time without shutting the machine down to re-measure. Or having found a correct position on something, I can 'record' it with a block and come back to it later, with precision. I also used two under a tiny magnetic base drill. Many uses besides just holding dial indicators, very handy to have around.
