The definitive bluray restoration!
This bluray of “Picnic” restores the film to its full CinemaScope aspect ration, something the US DVD release inexplicably failed to offer (theirs was approximate). The high definition restoration is immaculate and new life is given to a film that previously looked degraded on home video. The color, depth and scope of the film is what you would have seen opening night of 1956. Do not hesitate to buy a copy. You’re given a choice of English Audio 2.1 or 5.1. The 5.1 audio is robust and room filling. Highly recommended!

Thunder for sure!
I’ve looked for these albums on CD for decades! Chi Coltrane was a competent singer but her musicality was spectacular as a pianist. These albums never found overwhelming success in the states but the one-hit “Thunder and Lightning” in the US was just the tip of the iceberg of this lady’s talent. Thankfully the UK label BGO understood that by releasing this long overdue CD re-issue!
