The single best cookbook out there, still.
I've got my mom's old Joy by Rombauer (3rd edition) and also the new edition by Rombauer, Becker, and Becker. I reckon that this edition by Rombauer and Becker (1975) is by far the best one. If I could have only one cookbook in my kitchen, it would be this one. It covers all aspects of cooking for almost anything I'd care to make. When other processed foods (e.g., mayonnaise, seasoned flour, pan gravy, etc.) are ingredients to recipes, there are cross-references so that one can make those ingredients. The cookbook is so comprehensive that it even has a section on game and tells how to clean and dress animals so that if you do not have a dressed rabbit for your stew, you can do it yourself. I particularly like the sections "about" food and cooking. Highly recommended.

Foods that I grew up with
Excellent cookbook! I am 64 and grew up in a small town in northern Wisconsin. These are the foods that I grew up with, along with some additional ones that I want to try. Where I do not have recipes from my grandmother, these will fill in the gaps. Where I do have recipes from my grandmother, they are very similar to those in this cookbook.

Good torch to use on a Lindal valve gas cartridge.
It's reasonably light for a torch and appears to be well constructed. It fits any isobutane gas cartridge with a standard Lindal valve (e.g., those found on MSR or SnowPeak cartridges that are commonly sold for camping stoves). The torch may burn other gas (e.g., propane or butane) with valve converters, which are readily available, but I've not yet tried that.
