Good purchase, I recommend it
Good value, easy to install and program and it works as it should.

Basic cassette initially ok
3 of 3 found this helpful I bought this cassette player basically to listen to cassettes and it was okay for the first 2 months, after that it developed what sounded like a constant ground hum, it started low and it got louder - unacceptable. I returned it and asked for a replacement which I got within 3 weeks. So again it played well for about 2 months and the same trouble developed as the first one - excessive ground hum. This time I just trashed it. I will not recommend buying this player.

As a cassette player only it is a good value
1 of 2 found this helpful I bought this Sony Walkman mainly to listen to cassettes and if that's all you intend to do, this is a good value and I would recommend it. The only negative is that on the mega bass setting the sound is so low, it's almost distorted even at low volume so I don't use it, the regular sound is good. If you intend to listen to the radio, I would not recommend it, the AM and FM reception is very poor even on the strong stations here in Los Angeles.
