He solves murders (in ancient Rome)
John Maddox Robert's SPQR series are great escapist literature; one detective, (Metellus offspring; and a patrician solves murders over the books which are filled with details of living in ancient Rome. Loved them.

The last in the Horowitz series.
Horowitz is an excellent, and this is the last book in his series (that started with the Magpie Murders.) It's impossible to reserve at the local library, so I purchased it. The book looks new; was a good value, compelling reading, great escapism. Thanks.
