Not comparable to a Ronson
1 of 1 found this helpful This handwarmer is similar (almost identical) in design to the premium brand made by Ronson. The big difference is the wick. The wick on this model is inferior and grays and gives off an odor even after hours of use. It appears to be a rolled up mesh rather than a woven “tube.” Fuel is consumed very quickly and the catalytic glow is too high. It also is prone to going out and requiring a re-light. Since handwarmers are set-and-forget devices, there’s no adjustment that can be made to improve the performance. The inefficiency is designed-in and appears to be a result of cost control through the use of less expensive material. The stainless steel case and cotton packing seem to be up to par but the heart of the device is the catalytic wick and on this product, it falls short on performance.
