School Pen version of classic cigar shaped Fountain Pens
This is a very lightweight classic cigar shaped all plastic fountain pen with a converter. I flushed the pen three times using drop of dish soap and warm water to remove any factory dust and oils. The nib is a superbly smooth fine point (similar to a wet American fine point). The nib seems smaller and shorter than a number 5 nib but bigger than famous disposable fountain pens. The pen is medium thickness and has a screw on cap (2 full turns). Size is similar to the no longer made A&W Classic Impressions pen made by Reform for A &W but nib is better. It posts solidly and comfortably. This pen would be great for travel, every day carry, business and as gifts for students and beginners. The size and shape provide a classic writing experience similar to using a vintage pen and nib. The clip, band and nib are silver tone. Colors are shiny black, bright red, forest green, dark grey, Lapis Lazulli blue, and Ivory white. I have been using it exclusively for two weeks without any problems and it writes beautifully each time. Its a stunning pen for the price. I collect and use vintage fountains and have been looking for a less expensive EDC pen and this is it. Buy it for the price and you will appreciate it for the smooth nib. The converter fills full each time.
Simply a really enjoyable pen for the money. I recommend this pen. It has held up well as a daily toss around pen used in lieu of roller ball and ballpoint.
Finally, it writes best with a very light touch to paper like an artist's brush and writes worse with ball point pressure. There is some line variation depending on the angle of nib to paper and the pressure but I would not describe it as flexible or soft nib. I prefer fine point so I have made no adjustments to the already smooth nib.

Now I understand the phrase "well-behaved ink".

Now I understand the phrase "well-behaved ink". I have been a dedicated "other brand" user for many ears and bought this ink to try out. I wish I had purchased these inks sooner. I would have saved money and would have enjoyed my fountain pens more.
I prefer fine point nibs but occasionally write in medium-fine or wet medium. This ink used in medium or fine fountain pens is not overly viscous so nibs tend to write true to size. In other words the nibs perform as they were meant to be. It does not overly saturate the paper so letters don't blend into one another in script and my handwriting appears neater and cleaner.
Yet, it is still a wet ink so pens that tend towards being wet writers will remain so, just neater. It is true matte black and the blue-black is more of a greyish blue like the old fashioned archival blue-black ---quite distinguished looking but still closer to blue. Depending on the nib size and flow it shows shading and solid color throughout. It dries fairly quickly and enhances my penmanship. I recommend this product for the obvious cost savings but mainly because of the superb quality. The ink comes in heavy duty plastic bottles. The cap flips up and there is a pull tab that pulls off to reveal a tear drop opening. There is a pouring rim along the wider part of the tear drop. My recommendation is to place a napkin or tissue above the cap when pulling the tab off to prevent any tiny droplets splashing from the force. Its not difficult to remove but not overly easy either.
My understanding is that this ink is made by Namiki which makes more expensive quality inks as well. I believe it. I recommend this ink very much for daily use.
