Healthy grains are happy grains.
2 of 2 found this helpful My Tibicos grains appear to have already started multiplying only a week or so after receiving them in the mail and they seem to be doing well under my care.
I have been taking steps to prevent damage to the culture such as allowing the sanitizing additives (Chlorine) in the tap water to dissipate in a spare jar a day prior to using it for the next batch of sugar cane and molasses water. Per recommendation from my mother whom had Tibicos back when I was a kid, I use granular cane sugar from Costco instead of the pure white granulated sugar (It tastes better anyways). I still have to figure out a good sugar-to-water ratio that works with my odd sized jars but I am confident I'll get it right soon enough, the Tibicos do not seem to mind.
They did come with a print paper introducing basic care instructions and whatnot though it wasn't anything I was not already aware of from past experience, in my case. Over all, I am satisfied with this purchase.
