Heavy Duty
1 of 1 found this helpful Strong, heavy, looks good.. Not really sealed and will require service and maintenance. It has a lower dust cover and the top is hooded by design, so it's not wide open to the elements, but it's likely to be contaminated over time and the worst conditions will make that time shorter. The larger lower bearing cup changes the leverage against the headtube a bit and raises the front of the bike about 5 millimeters. The upper cup is larger than most and between the 2 bearing cups, I lost 10mm of steerer tube spacers by changing from a really light duty headset. So make sure you have room for this headset before you buy. When installed and clean, it's extremely smooth. The big bearings are like a 29'er rolling with minimal effort. I'm just guessing, but I'd say if you feel it grinding or the steering gets kind of notchy, it might be too late for regular service. Sand and mud flies off of your front tire at high velocity in the crown area and could possibly get past the dust cover. So, Overall, it's tough as nails, but a little high on maintenance. Probably no more maintenance required than a standard headset, and will last longer with it's overkill design.

Great tire for road, gravel, off road.
1 of 1 found this helpful It's not an MTB tire, but it's a great in between for my adventure bike. The mocha brown matches nearly every brown leather accessory I've found. Lighter than advertised, one weighed 500g. the other 506g. It does pick up a little grit, but a set of compact fenders would probably make that a non issue. Comfortable at 50-60psi. performs well when wet, not as fast as a 23mm tire, but not as harsh a ride, and it doesn't cut through everything softer than hard tarmac. So far, I'm pleased with it. Would be a great choice for a hybrid around town too! That old Nimbus tread pattern has been around for decades. Proven, still a great tire

Very nice
2 of 2 found this helpful Thinking I need a dozen of these for the rest of my bikes! Works VERY well with Camelback and similar sized bottles. Matte carbon fiber finish exactly as pictured. Strong, extremely light, Not cheap plastic!
