DVI connector

II bought this cable to connect a new blue ray disc player to an older RCA HD TV that does not have an HDMI input jack. After I connected the cable and expected to see the blue ray player on the screen, but did not see anything, I went to the back of the TV and tried to tighten the HD-DVI connector, then I had a picture. I have to do this several times during the first week. It has been good since then. The connector does not seem to fit well.
