Phone uses extra 1-3 GB of storage for msytery data you can't remove.
2 of 4 found this helpful It keeps building mystery system data that you can't find, see, or delete for any reason I can find. Clear cache and app data, delete apps all you want, the only way it will give you back your storage space is a factory reset.
I put somewhere around 0.9-1.1 GB of apps and data on it within 3 weeks and had less than 0.5 GB of space left on phone. It had accumulated about 3 GB of system data I couldn't remove without rooting and voiding my warranty. Deleted all but 4 of my apps just so it would update the google and moto apps you can't remove from the phone.
No longer bothering with an SD card as you can't move many apps to the card even if formatted as internal storage( not the phone's fault). Having a card in the phone just seemed to speed up the mystery data growth.
No help from Lenovo tech support, they say its working fine and I need a 16 or 32 GB phone if I want to have more than 4-10 apps.
Utilize the card slot for custom ROMs and root the phone or you won't be able to do much without constant factory resets.
