Excellent history: use EARTH & Naval Dictionary
Anyone one of Patrick O'Brian's book is a jewel; in the 21 book sequence, the reader is rejoined w history in the dueling of England, France-Napoleon, Spain, Portugal, America, the whaling industry, all the islands, the rising 40s, the Horn and the commands of the navies along with personal thoughts and interactions of each officers and their loved ones.

Kidnapping for Jesus.
The religion of peace kidnapping and ruining the lives of millions for Jesus! Names, dates, and occurrences all from the opened Archives of the Vatican. It's a well narrated history, mostly from 1780 thru 1890, on how the church treated 'infidels' and 'heathens'.
