We were surprised at the quality & beauty of this butter dish. It is very light weight and the flip top is so convenient. It has a plastic butter knife in matching red color. A storage place for the knife helps keep your counters neat. It works best on room temperature butter. Be prepared to carefully slide the knife under the soft butter -- the soft butter can easily fall off the knife. We are happy with it.
