Almost Too Good To Give As A Gift
I bought this book, "Great Musicals of the American Theatre, vol. 2", as a gift for my daughter, but I was tempted to keep it for myself. It contains the full text, including the complete lyrics for all the songs, for ten great American musicals. My daughter is an elementary school music teacher and choral director for her school district's annual musical; I have many years experience appearing in local amateur musical productions so the book has great appeal for each of us. If she likes it as much as I did, I will try to get a copy of the first volume from several years earlier for her upcoming birthday (and then look for additional copies of both for myself).

Faithful...and FANatic
While I had known that Stephen King was a Red Sox fan, I had not been aware of the depth of his feelings for them. This book is a candid, no-holds-barred in-depth analysis, largely game-by-game, of one of the greatest seasons in Sox history. King and co-author Stewart O'Nan don't collaborate per se, but record their separate impressions of the season, the players and the opponents. The book is equally enjoyable as a Red Sox fan, as a baseball fan, in general, or as an opportunity to experience a different style of writing if you're a fan of either of the authors.

Completing the Set
I bought this item for my daughter, a grammar school and private student music teacher, after she raved over the comparable women's version which I had given her a few weeks earlier. She has been similarly enthusiastic about the men's version and has definite plans to use both versions with her private voice students.
