Item operates, but not when trying to pr...

Item operates, but not when trying to print text only. Have to set up as “photo print” to trick it into printing text. Tried changing out printer head, deep cleaning, new cartridges, etc. Nothing made any difference. Must be an internal circuit issue of some sort. Planning to upgrade in the near future, so will suffice for now.
